Your View: Did Sundin make the right choice?

After months of speculation about where he might land, free agent Mats Sundin finally made up his mind Thursday and agreed to sign with the Vancouver Canucks. But did he make the right call?

After months of speculation about where he might land, free agent Mats Sundin finally made up his mind Thursday and agreed to sign with the Vancouver Canucks.

The one-year deal gives high-scoring Vancouver a major offensive weapon in its battle to return to the playoffs after a one-year absence. Sundin has racked up 1,321 points in 1,305 career games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Quebec Nordiques.

There's also plenty in it for Sundin. Besides the millions he'll pocket in salary, the 37 -year-old centre joins a team that has a shot to win him his first Stanley Cup. At the very least, he figures to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

But did Sundin make the right choice? Is Vancouver the perfect fit, or should he have signed with the New York Rangers, the other finalist for his services? What would you have done? Post your comment and have your say.
