Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir rewrite the ending to Moulin Rouge
Canada's social media darlings didn't break the internet, but they sure got it fired up
By Tanya Casole-Gouveia, CBCÂ Sports
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
That iconic line comes from Moulin Rouge, the motion picture from which Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir took their free program music 'Roxanne'. While the film had a sad and tragic end, the ice dance duo seemed to have rewritten the ending with their gold-medal performance on Tuesday in Pyeongchang.Â

Canada held its collective breath as the pair floated and glided through their free program routine.
That was the longest I've ever held my breath...couldn't tell if I was lightheaded because it was so 🔥or because I was sure they got 🥇@tessavirtue @ScottMoir thank you! And when the scores were announced, the country went crazy -- from where it all started for Virtue and Moir, at the Ilderton, Ont., skating club:Â

And we have a feeling Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann sends his regards too, like he did after their team-event gold.Â

Canada's sweethearts
Virtue and Moir have been skating together for over 20 years, and Canadians certainly feel some type of way about these these two skating stars.

While actor (and part-time comedian) Ryan Reynolds thinks they'll be the perfect duo to raise his two children. Not sure how wife Blake Lively feels about that though.

Another tweeter would like to buy things with some Virtue and Moir currency.

But some fans have a feeling Virtue and Moir aren't being completely honest with them.
Virtue and Moir are just platonic partners. pic.twitter.com/eXOYED3B0R
