The Canadian men's rugby sevens team had a weekend to forget, leaving the Singapore Sevens event with five losses and no wins.

On Saturday, Canada lost to the United States 36-14, New Zealand 24-17 and France 26-19. The team followed that up on Sunday with a 26-19 loss to Scotland and a 24-22 loss to Wales.

Meanwhile, Kenya shocked Fiji 30-7 in the final to claim its first World Series title.

Collins Injera scored two of Kenya's six tries as the African team won the Cup competition at a World Series leg for the first time in 114 tournaments, adding their name to the list of prospective Olympics gold medallists in Rio de Janiero later this year.

Fiji entered the tournament as the World Series leader and favourite but were overwhelmed in the final by Kenya which jumped out to a 20-0 lead at halftime.

Injera scored twice in the first half and Kenya snuffed out a brief Fiji rally after halftime, scoring two late tries to win convincingly.
