Sunday's competition brought an end to a record start by Canada at the women's world boxing championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Rattling off eight-straight wins to begin the event, Canada found themselves on the losing end of four bouts.

Sabrina Aubin (57kg), Alison Greey (81kg), Erica Adjei (54kg), and Ariane Fortin were all eliminated from competition.

Caroline Veyre, of Montreal, won her first two matches in Astana, and is looking to punch her ticket at the Olympic boxing qualifier. She needs a top-four finish to join teammates Fortin and Mandy Bujold in qualifying for the Rio Games.
