The Rio Olympics are less than four months away and with that comes the advancement of Olympic venues.

The iconic Maracanã, one of the most famous stadiums in the world, will stage the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, plus the decisive stages of both the men's and women's Olympic football tournaments.

On Wednesday, a time-lapse video of the Rio Olympic venues was released sharing a glimpse at the advancements made at Barra and Deodoro, two of the four venue zones.

At Deodoro, it shows the progress of the venues for canoe slalom, modern pentathlon, mountain biking, BMX, shooting, field hockey and equestrian.

Barra focuses on the venues for handball, tennis, swimming, water polo, track cycling, diving and synchronized swimming.

Rio 2016 organizers have dubbed Barra the "Heart of the Games".
