Downhill ski racer Larisa Yurkiw says she is no longer a member of the national ski team, although she still hopes to represent Canada at the Sochi Olympics next year.
No Top-20 results in World Cups or world championship
Downhill ski racer Larisa Yurkiw says she's been dropped from the Canadian ski team.
The 25-year-old from Owen Sound, Ont., is still hoping to compete for Canada at the Winter Olympics next year.
Yurkiw says she'll have to pay for her own off-season training and then try to earn her spot on the team in the fall.
Alpine Canada president Max Gartner says funding is currently going to athletes who have shown medal potential for the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Olympics.
Yurkiw just completed her first full season of racing since a major knee injury in 2009.
She didn't finish in the top 20 in World Cups or the world championship.
