Svindal completes Lake Louise double with super-G win

Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal completed a World Cup sweep in Lake Louise, Alta., by winning Sunday's super-G. Erik Guay of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was the top Canadian in 13th.

The Norwegian finished with a time of 1:21.30 to take first place. Svindal also won the season-opening downhill Saturday.

Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal completed a World Cup sweep in Lake Louise, Alta., by winning Sunday's super-G.

Svindal also won the season-opening downhill Saturday. He didn't race on the World Cup last season because of a torn Achilles' tendon.

Svindal's time was one minute 29.30 seconds. Matthias Mayer of Austria was second in 1:29.65.

Peter Fill of Italy, who was second to Sinvdall in downhill, was third in 1:29.75.

Erik Guay of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was the top Canadian in 13th. Manny Osborne-Paradis was 28th. Other Canadians include: 38. Terry Wyler, 45. Morgan Pridy, 51. Jeffrey Frisch, 56. Broderick Thompson. Jan Hudec did not finish.
