Team Canada's winter athletes on the mountain, track
Sebastien Toutant, Kaillie Humphries tweet from the hills
As we head into the winter season, Team Canada's mountain sport athletes are heading out of the gym and back to the hills.
#MountainMonday follows Team Canada as they post pictures from all around the world, showing what preparing for Pyeongchang2018 really looks like.
Freestyle skiers Mike Riddle and Noah Bowman were in Cardrona, New Zealand, this weekend, practicing and posting some wild videos.
Here's another angle of the Dub 12 from the other day. Canadian snowboarder Katie Tsuyuki was also in Cardrona. Did anyone else ever wonder how they make a halfpipe?
Next stop: Saas-Fee, Switzerland. Canadian ski cross athlete Kelsey Serwa was training this weekend, posting videos of herself finding a rhythm she hopes will carry her though the season.
While some athletes are training, others are already putting their work to the test. Bobsleigh champion Kaillie Humphries and her team went for their first race of the season this weekend at national team selection races.
Moving onto Sölden, Austria, where Canada's alpine team competed in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Marie-Michèle Gagnon was among the giant slalom racers tweeting from the hill.
Today's 25th place was not my best performance, but I'm still happy to get a few points anyways. This season came a little too early...

But not all alpine skiers were on the hills this weekend. Georgia Simmerling and Jan Hudec spend the weekend on their bikes — though not the same type of bike.
While some athletes are already back on the hills, some are just heading back. Luge athlete Arianne Jones got back on the sled this weekend after a bought with injury, joining teammates including Kim McRae in start of season training sessions.
Finished a tough week of training w/ Selection Race #2 <a href="https://twitter.com/slidingcentre">@slidingcentre</a> whistler. Some PB's, but some work left to do. <a href="https://t.co/Ss0fEMvM8q">pic.twitter.com/Ss0fEMvM8q</a>

To cap off #Mountain Monday, we have a very close call between Olympic snowboarders Sebastien Toutant and Maxence Parrot.
I almost killed <a href="https://twitter.com/MaxParrot">@MaxParrot</a> !! How the hell we both survived 😱 ! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/gopro?src=hash">#gopro</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/riskybusiness?src=hash">#riskybusiness</a> <a href="https://t.co/3AQV3iaJPZ">pic.twitter.com/3AQV3iaJPZ</a>
