Canadians finish with gold, silver in re-run
The final of the men's 800m T54 looked more like a demolition derby than a Parapan Am medal event on Thursday in Toronto.
The wreck knocked out five competitors, leaving only three men, including Canadians Alex Dupont and Joshua Cassidy, the only athletes free and clear from the pile-up.

Dupont finished first and Cassidy was third in that first race -- but the\ose results were wiped out as the event was scheduled to be re-run later Thursday.
The Canadians made good on their second crack at the final — Dupont (once again) captured gold, while Cassidy improved his result by winning silver.
Juan Valladares of Venezuela took the bronze.
