Canadians are known for being kind, always going above and beyond to lend a helping hand — it's just part of who we are.

And so are some of Canada's biggest celebrities. When we asked them to join us in supporting local food banks, we were overwhelmed by their responses and willingness to donate their time to help.

What is Make the Season Kind?

Make the Season Kind is CBC's national holiday campaign to support local food banks. Since 2015, CBC has raised over $51 million for food banks and charities across Canada.

This year, for the first time, we're working with some of Canada's biggest stars and influencers to share a powerful message of kindness and urge Canadians to give to their local food banks.

Why are we focusing on food banks?

The need has never been greater. A report from Food Banks Canada says that in March 2024, there were over 2 million visits to food banks across the country — the highest number in history and 90 per cent more compared to March 2019. One-third of clients are children under 18 and one-third are newcomers to Canada.
