Vinessa Antoine goes deep (and gets thrown around) in time travel series Plan B
She plays Mia Coleman, a police officer who tries to prevent a tragedy
Vinessa Antoine (Diggstown, Ginny & Georgia) is back, this time, in Season 2 of CBC's drama series Plan B where she plays police officer Mia Coleman who travels back in time in an attempt to prevent a terrible tragedy.
On the eve of her 40th birthday, Mia is grieving the end of her long-term relationship with a single dad and the separation from his son Jared, whom she embraced as her own. "She's got a lot of anger. She's got a lot of jealousy," says Vinessa in an interview with CBC Gem, "It gets her in a lot of trouble."
At work, Mia gets involved in a family crisis and makes a judgement call that ends in a triple homicide. She decides to go back and make a different choice to change the outcome.

"I did every single one of my own stunts," says Vinessa who explains that scenes were shot based on the location. "Every time I got thrown in the back of a van, that was that one day. So I got thrown in the back of that van at least I'm going to say a hundred times." There were lots of bruises and Vinessa admits, "I dislocated a shoulder. But it's all good now."
With each trip to the past, Mia delves deep into her own psyche and confronts unresolved issues. "I lean into emotions," explains Vinessa, "I go very deep into the actual life story of the characters that I play."
Mia is very different from her previous starring role as Marcie Diggs, a corporate lawyer who reconsiders her priorities after her beloved aunt commits suicide following a malicious prosecution in Diggstown. "Her public persona is actually very "good." I don't think she would ever show her ugly to the world," explains Vinessa, "and Mia is the opposite. Inside she's good. But outside, she has no problem letting you know what's up."
