What if Kim's Convenience was taken over by a Newfoundlander?
'Jim's Convenience' is the latest parody video from St. John's comedy group Not Quite
Kim's Convenience returns to CBC TV tonight, and the cast is in St. John's, Newfoundland to celebrate the premiere.
After doing a little Twitter creeping, it seems the stars have already spent the day doing a whirlwind tour of the city. Actress Nicole Power brought the cast to her old high school, and they hit the town hall, too. And, of course, they did a little interview with CBC Radio.
But once they return to Toronto — where Canada's No. 1 comedy is set — they've got a little corner store competition thanks to the folks at Jim's Convenience. At Jim's, run by a Newfoundlander who's moved to Ontario's capital, salt meat riblets are always in stock and business is "deadly sure." There's only one problem: none of the customers can quite understand what Jim is saying.
It's the new parody video from the guys at Not Quite, the same St. John's comedians who created this Star Wars spoof last year. Watch!
Season 2 of Kim's Convenience premieres Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. (9:30NT) Catch it on CBC Television or at cbc.ca/watch.
The Kim's Convenience On the Road Wrap Party hit's St. John's Tuesday, Oct. 3. Find full event info at cbc.ca/kimsconvenience.
