Season 2, Episode 4: International Week
For International Week, the seven remaining bakers pushed themselves with challenges that featured flavours, textures and techniques from around the world.
Judges Bruno Feldeisen and Rochelle Adonis were once again amazed by the bakers' creativity. For the signature bake, each baker made 24 hand pies, inspired by their own heritage and travels, while the the showstopper featured intricate and elaborate Italian cookie dioramas.
But as close as the competition was, one baker proved themselves world class, winning this week's Star Baker award. Sadly, another baker was sent home from the competition.

This week's technical challenge saw the bakers take on a traditional Japanese dessert: daifuku mochi. Made with rice flour, red bean paste and fresh strawberries, daifuku mochi is traditionally made to celebrate the return of spring.
The race for Star Baker was closer than ever, but one baker shone just a little brighter than the others. With Alberta beef hamburger hand pies and a first-place finish in the technical challenge, Megan sealed the deal with her Northern Lights cookie diorama.
Mengling won an honourable mention for her beehive diorama (if you look carefully, you'll see all the bees have different facial expressions!).
