5 ways to incorporate Earth Gym into your outdoor workouts
Trainer Kendra Rosychuk shares a simple circuit that lets you connect with the land
Need a change of pace in your fitness routine? Try Earth Gym: an outdoor activity that teaches you to move with the land, using things like rocks and logs. "Earth Gym is a good grounding exercise, and it allows you to connect with Mother Earth and all her elements," says Kendra Rosychuk (@kendrajessie), a Cree and Ukrainian creator, dancer and fitness trainer from the Sucker Creek First Nation in Alberta.
In this video from CBC Creator Network, she takes us through an Earth Gym circuit workout that's easy to incorporate when you're already out in nature for a hike, jog or other land-based activity. Moving with Mother Earth is one way we can reconnect with the land, Kendra says.

Routine:
- Halos (alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise)
- Bulgarian split squats (one set per leg)
- Deadlifts
- Squat and press
- Rows
Repeat each exercise 10 times. Repeat full circuit 2 or 3 times.
