RCMP blame speed for collision at Knight Street and Westminster Highway
One person has been killed and three others rushed to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision at Knight Street and Westminster Highway in Richmond, police say.
"The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. and involved five vehicles, three which were destroyed," said a statement issued by Richmond RCMP.
"One person was found deceased, two people were rushed to hospital by air ambulance in critical condition, and another person was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries," said Cpl. Sherrdean Turley.
"At this point of the investigation it is evident that speed is a contributing factor," said Turley.
Knight Street is closed to southbound traffic, while Westminster Highway is closed in both directions.
