3 women attacked in Vancouver

Police are warning the public after three women were attacked from behind in Vancouver, the third in a spate of warnings about sexually motivated attacks in the city this summer.

Vancouver Police are warning the public after three women were attacked from behind on the Cambie Street corridor, the third in a spate of warnings about sexually motivated attacks in the city this summer.

Police said the latest set of attacks began on Sept. 2, at around 3:30 a.m., when a 24-year-old woman was grabbed from behind near Cambie Street and West 18th Avenue.

Three days later, at around 1:00 a.m. on Sept. 5, a 23-year-old woman was similarly grabbed from behind near Cambie Street and West 29th Avenue.

Then on Sunday, also around 1:00 a.m., a 19-year-old woman was knocked to the ground near Cambie Street and West 55th Avenue.

In all three cases, the women screamed and defended themselves, causing the attacker to flee.

It is not known whether the incidents are linked.

In each case the suspect is described as white and of average height and build.
