Many people are celebrating Passover and the Easter long weekend with family and friends. Here are a few suggestions for kid-friendly events in Metro Vancouver and beyond.

1) Capture Photography Festival

Hundreds of photos by seasoned and emerging artists will be on display throughout Vancouver in the month of April. From photos exploring life in the oil patch, to images of the city that explore the character and history of Vancouver, this festival offers diverse perspectives on our world.

2) Fan Expo Vancouver

If you love anime, sci-fi, comics and gaming, you'll know the Fan Expo is the place to be this weekend. Attractions include the Back to the Future time machine, autograph and photography sessions with celebrities, and your favourite comic artists in drawing duels. Dress up as your favourite character (Chewbacca anyone?) and head over to join fellow fans.

Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters will be out in full force at Fan Expo Vancouver. (Fan Expo Vancouver)

3) Chilliwack Corn Maze Easter Egg Hunt

This is just one of many Easter egg hunts going on this weekend. Who wants to search for eggs in their own home when you've got a five-acre corn maze to explore?

4) Stop and admire the flowers

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival gets under way this weekend. Organizers have put together a wide selection of events, from picnics and walks, to a project that encourages people to share a mat with strangers to ooh and ahh at the blossoms.

And out in Agassiz, the tulips are blooming for the Tulips of the Valley Festival. Cycle or walk among rows and rows of colourful flowers, and nibble on fresh snacks from local vendors.
