Abbotsford campers: 'We got nowhere else to go'

The City of Abbotsford heads to court Tuesday in a bid to remove a tent city at Jubilee Park. Campers protesting the city's treatment of homeless people have been in the park for nearly two months.

Last week some of the campers migrated to the adjacent parking lot, where supporters put up a large plywood barrier around the camp to protect it from the elements.

On Friday, a B.C. Supreme Court justice ordered the campers to vacate the parking lot and stop construction on the barrier, but the Saturday afternoon deadline came and went with no enforcement from the city.

The city continues to say conditions at the camp are unsafe, and wants the campers to leave the park entirely.
