An Abbotsford man is facing 66 firearms and drug charges after a large cache of weapons and drugs were seized — including over 1000 pills containing fentanyl.

Corey Jim Perkins, 28, was the subject of ten search warrants where cocaine and fentanyl, along with a sub-machine gun and numerous other weapons and ammunition, were discovered. In addition, $60,000 in cash was also seized.

The stockpile of firearms seized include semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, a sub-machine gun, semi-automatic rifles and a sawed-off shotgun, as well as magazines, silencers and ammunition. (Abbotsford Police Department)

"This is the anatomy of a dial-a-dope operation, although this guy had a huge stockpile of weapons," said Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police.

"It's significant that 1000 fentanyl pills have been taken off the street," he added. "We've seen our share of fentanyl deaths here in Abbotsford."

MacDonald said the charges are the result of a year-long investigation by the APD gang and drug unit.

An associate of Perkins, 26-year-old Caitlin Rose Bransford, is also facing four charges of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl) for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a loaded, restricted handgun.
