1 dead, 2 hospitalized in crash on Burnaby Mountain Parkway
Emergency crews received a call about the crash just after 4 a.m. Thursday

One person is dead, and two people have been hospitalized after a crash on Burnaby Mountain Thursday morning.
B.C. Emergency Health Services told CBC News they were called to respond to a motor vehicle incident on the Burnaby Mountain Parkway just after 4 a.m.
They said paramedics transported two people to hospital in stable condition.
Burnaby RCMP confirmed that one person died.

According to one witness, the crash appears to have happened in the westbound lanes and Burnaby RCMP had closed the road in both directions.
In a post to social media around 5:30 a.m., TransLink said the R5 and 144 routes to Simon Fraser University are being detoured "due to a motor vehicle incident."
