CBC's B.C. team wins 11 journalism awards

The CBC News team in B.C. has once again been honoured by RTDNA Canada, the Association of Electronic Journalists, with eleven awards celebrating the best in electronic journalism in regions across Canada.

Vancouver online reporter Devon Goodsell won the Digital Media award for The Grey Area, which looked at the business of seniors' care. 

Television reporter Natalie Clancy won the Short Feature award for her exclusive look at the unlicensed use of Botox at medical spas in Vancouver.

Radio news host Cecilia Walters took the award for best radio newscast for her early morning newscasts on The Early Edition in Vancouver each morning.

The Early Edition radio producer Elaine Chau also won the Diversity award for her series, Chinatown Chronicles.

Nelson-based radio reporter Bob Keating won the Spot News award for his coverage of the fatal mudslide in Johnsons Landing last July.

Radio journalist Josh Pagé won Short Feature (small or medium market) for his radio story about a 95-year-old veteran who spends his days making sure his fellow soldiers' graves are marked with headstones.  

Vancouver journalist and radio host Margaret Gallagher won the Short Feature award (large market) for her story on free work clothes for unemployed men, Working Gear.

Gallagher also won the Creative Use of Sound award for her coverage of the legendary West Coast jazz show Hot Air's 65th Anniversary. 

Victoria's All Points West radio host Jo-Ann Roberts won Long Feature for her story Sisters of Silence, Inside the Modern Monastery.

Vancouver producer Anne Penman and the B.C. Almanac team won Live Special Event for their radio forum on bullying.

The team at the Daybreak Kamloops morning radio show won the Sports award for their story on Marty and the Blazers.
