Family violence suspected after woman, 66, killed in Chilliwack, B.C., police say
68-year-old suspect arrested at the scene of attack that also left younger man injured

UPDATE, Aug. 6, 2025 — A B.C. Supreme Court judge has found a man not criminally responsible for killing his wife in Chilliwack, B.C., in January 2024.
The court found that the man, now 70, was suffering from a mental disorder and a "delusional belief" when the violent killing occurred. Many of the details in the case are covered by a court-ordered publication ban.

A 66-year-old woman is dead and a 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Chilliwack, B.C., according to homicide investigators.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says a 37-year-old man was also injured in an incident involving three members of the same family on Wednesday afternoon.
Chilliwack RCMP were called to a home in the 46600-block of Teton Avenue at around 1p.m., according to an IHIT press release.
The female victim was found dead, while the suspect was arrested at the scene without incident. Police say the wounded man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the public. They have not released the name of the victims or the suspect.
