Christy Clark snarked by John Horgan on her birthday
Social media responds to deleted emails scandal with internet memes
Search the #bcpoli hashtag on Twitter and the Internet will inform you that it's Christy Clark's 50th birthday on Oct. 29.
The website, Today's B.C. Liberals, wants you to wish the B.C. premier happy birthday and there's even a place where you can send her a personalized message.

Of course social media, being what it is, erupted with equal parts well wishes and snark.
Opposition Leader John Horgan tweeted he wished Clark happy birthday in an email and added, "Make sure you don't delete it ;)"
Happy Birthday <a href="https://twitter.com/christyclarkbc">@christyclarkbc</a>! I sent you an email wishing you a happy birthday, make sure you don't delete it ;) <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bcpoli?src=hash">#bcpoli</a>

He was, of course, referring to the political scandal from last week where the B.C. Information and Privacy Commissioner released a scathing report that accused her staff and office of "triple deleting" emails in order to skirt freedom of information laws.
- B.C. minister admits to 'triple deleting' his emails
- Email scandal uncovered a culture of 'delete, delete, delete'
- Christy Clark says she was unaware of triple deleting of government emails
Clark says that until the report was released she had no idea what triple deleting of emails was and that she has now ordered all government staff and ministers to retain their sent emails.
Memes poke fun at Clark's response
Meanwhile in <a href="https://twitter.com/christyclarkbc">@christyclarkbc</a> office they are working hard to bring us an "open" government <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bcpoli?src=hash">#bcpoli</a> <a href="https://t.co/LYo6yVJZXF">pic.twitter.com/LYo6yVJZXF</a>

Halloween inspired tweet
Another person suggested a potential Halloween costume for the B.C. Liberals.
The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/official?src=hash">#official</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/halloween?src=hash">#halloween</a> costume for the <a href="https://twitter.com/bcliberals">@bcliberals</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/christyclarkbc">@christyclarkbc</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/deletegate?src=hash">#deletegate</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/foi?src=hash">#foi</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bcpoli?src=hash">#bcpoli</a> <a href="https://t.co/WRTfbwyH75">pic.twitter.com/WRTfbwyH75</a>

Clark's response
Clark has not responded to the memes or Horgan's tweet on her social media accounts. Instead, she responded to Today's B.C. Liberals, saying that her 50th was, in fact, her "second" 49th birthday.
Had no idea my second consecutive 49th birthday would get noticed. Thanks for all the good wishes! <a href="https://t.co/fp5xQDbrIs">https://t.co/fp5xQDbrIs</a>
