CBC Vancouver is proud to return as media sponsor of the 2021 DOXA Documentary Film Festival, running May 6-16, online.

DOXA is Western Canada's largest documentary film festival and this year is celebrating its 20th anniversary with over 50 films including shorts, features and world premiers from across Canada and around the world. The 2021 program also includes a special celebration of the festival's history, live Q&A's and industry events – all to be enjoyed from the comforts of home.

CBC Vancouver's Anita Bathe will host the festival's opening night event on May 7 featuring a Q&A with Shannon Walsh, director of The Gig is Up, the evening's featured film.

The annual festival, named after a Greek word meaning 'common belief or popular opinion', is committed to cultivating curiosity and critical thought and delivers some of the very best in contemporary documentary cinema to Vancouver audiences and beyond.
