2 dead in multi-vehicle collision northeast of Kamloops: RCMP
5 people were taken to hospital and an investigation into the crash, near Sorrento, is underway

Two people are dead following a multi-vehicle collision near Sorrento, B.C, about 65 kilometres northeast of Kamloops, according to the RCMP.
The crash, on Highway 1 near Little River Road, occurred Saturday around 8 a.m. PT, Mounties said.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and will release more information as it becomes available, RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson told CBC News.

"Details are limited and I have nothing further at this time," Saunderson said.
B.C. Emergency Health Services said three ambulances were sent to the scene and paramedics cared for and transported five patients to hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The Trans-Canada Highway was closed in both directions between Little River Road and Lindburg Road for over 12 hours, reopening to traffic at 8:30 p.m. PT on Saturday.
