Tourists flocking to Gastown to take photos of an iconic landmark are settling for a cardboard version instead.
Vancouver's Gastown Steam Clock is being repaired and the city of Vancouver hopes to have it back to its home on the cobbled-street corner of Water St. and Cambie St. before Christmas.
A plywood box with an image of the clock is taking its place in the meantime, but that hasn't stopped people from snapping photos.
One tourist told The Early Edition he wanted to take a photo as a keepsake.
"At least I was here," he said.
