Harry Potter has always had a dedicated fan base, and J.K. Rowling sure knows how to delight them.

The author tweeted on Sept. 1 that Harry's son — James Sirius Potter — would make his debut at Hogwarts and be sorted into one of the four houses at the school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Potter comes from generations of Gryffindor wizards and witches. Perhaps to nobody's surprise, Rowling revealed that the young Potter had been sorted into Gryffindor house.

Back to Hogwarts

Rowling's tweets sparked a flurry of tweets with the hashtag, BackToHogwarts for a generation of fans that have been following the boy wizard's adventures through books and movies.

Even London's trains got behind the program. King's Cross station, where Rowling situated the magical Platform 9 and 3/4, showed the departure time for the iconic Hogwarts Express and had many wannabe wizards try to get on to the platform.

Muggle misadventures

Poor old muggles (non-magical folk) who could not get on the train had to make do with taking photos.

Wishful thinking

Rowling's tweets had the fanbase wishing for more Harry Potter content in whatever form possible.
