After a showery and cool start to the month, summer-like weather is making a comeback, Environment Canada says.
The national forecaster has issued a special weather statement forecasting a heat wave that could last up to a week.
"A very strong ridge of high pressure will bump temperatures across Metro Vancouver up to 25 C to 32, beginning Saturday," said CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.
By Sunday, temperatures away from the coast will start to peak into the low 30s.
"Overnight lows may also stay quite warm which may make this extended period of record heat uncomfortable for many people," said Wagstaffe.
The heat wave is expected to continue at least into the middle of next week.
