Hwy 97 reopens in West Kelowna following multi-vehicle collision

One man is in hospital with serious injuries following a four-vehicle collision on Highway 97 near West Kelowna, B.C. on Monday evening.

The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. PT at Boucherie Road, about one kilometre north of the city, shutting down the highway for hours. At least four cars were involved in the collision.

The road reopened just before 2 a.m. PT Tuesday, according to Drive BC.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.

"The investigation into the collision is in its early stages," said RCMP Const. Lesley Smith wrote in an emailed statement Monday evening.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time is asked to contact RCMP.
