Police have identified a body that was found burned in a remote shelter in North Vancouver, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigations Team says 41-year-old Lisa MacPherson was the victim of a homicide.

Cpl. Meghan Foster says there are still many unanswered questions about what happened to the North Vancouver woman.

RCMP have said the body was found Nov. 28 in a densely wooded area along Bridgman North Trail.

They have not released the cause of MacPherson's death.

Police are asking anyone who knew the woman to contact the Integrate Homicide Investigations Team.

"We do know she led a transient lifestyle, and did not have a fixed address. There's going to a be a lot of people probably in the North Shore community that live that same lifestyle, and those are the ones we're reaching out to," said Foster.

"They're going to be the ones who possess the information we're looking for."

MacPherson's body was discovered at this shelter near Lynn Creek in North Vancouver on Nov. 28, 2016. (IHIT)
