Lantzinger is a past president of the B.C. Teachers Federation and is the current secretary treasurer of the B.C. Federation of Labour.
BCTF president Jim Iker says Lantzinger is a proven leader with significant experience at local and provincial bargaining tables.
The current president Jim Sinclair announced at the beginning of October that he would not run for re-election at the federation's 56th annual convention next month.
