Khouri Lamar Green charged in death of Surrey homeowner Colin Hill
Colin Hill was shot dead during an alleged break-in Sunday night
The man accused of killing Surrey, B.C., homeowner Colin Hill, 42, during a break-in on Sunday is a wannabe rapper with a long criminal history, CBC News has learned.
Khouri Lamar Green, aged 22, wore a collared blue shirt, appeared tired, and looked down at the ground as he was led into court for a brief appearance on a charge of second-degree murder.

The case was put over until September.
Green's Instagram account shows him striking poses with a pistol in his hands and expressing an interest in the gangster rap style. He also has images of "Purple Drank," a codeine and promethazine-laced cough syrup that is mixed with soft drinks and produces mild euphoric effects.
Green's sister says his family can't believe he's been accused of murder.
"It is completely out of character for him to do such a thing, because I don't see him as that person," said Tiana Green. "And he never represented himself as that person."
According to court records, Green was sentenced to six months in jail in January 2015 for possession of stolen property in Burnaby and one month for resisting a police officer. He was on a year's probation at the time of Hill's death.
Green also has a number of convictions, both for break-and-enter related offences and for breaching the terms of bail, in Surrey and Vancouver. He received a six-month sentence in July 2011 for break and enter.
Father slain during break-in
According to police, Hill — a father of two — was shot and killed while attempting to prevent a break-in at his home at 165 Street and 64 Avenue in Surrey, B.C. on Sunday night.
Green then allegedly fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
He was later arrested in Burnaby while allegedly attempting to break into another home.
Green's sister says her family wants to express its condolences to Hill's family.
"I feel so bad for the other family ... the victim's family, they lost a dad for no reason," she said.
