Police investigating 3 fatal pedestrian incidents across B.C.
One of the fatal crashes involved a hit-and-run in Oliver, B.C., last Sunday

Police are investigating three separate fatal collisions in the last week involving pedestrians across the province.
Early Wednesday morning, a pedestrian was killed in a crash that shut down several lanes of the Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows.
Ridge Meadows RCMP said officers responded around 2:40 a.m. to reports of a serious vehicle incident that involved a pedestrian in the 18900 block of the highway.
They said the female pedestrian was deceased when they arrived.
Lougheed Highway's westbound lanes at Harris Road were shut down until just before 11 a.m., when DriveBC said they had reopened.
Police said they're investigating the crash and that no further information is available at this time. They're asking witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to contact them.
Woman killed while crossing highway barrier
On Vancouver Island, a woman died Monday night after being struck by a passing vehicle.
Nanaimo RCMP said it happened on Highway 1, south of the Morden Road intersection.
Police, fire and emergency health crews responded around 10:30 p.m. Despite their efforts, the woman died at the scene.
Police said she was attempting to cross over a barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes when she was struck by the vehicle, which was travelling north.
The driver remained at the scene and co-operated with investigators, police said, and alcohol and drugs are not believed to be contributing factors.
Vehicle traffic was re-routed for several hours while an investigation was conducted.
Man killed in hit-and-run
In the South Okanagan, a 22-year-old man has died after a hit-and-run on Highway 97 near Oliver, located about 260 kilometres east of Vancouver as the crow flies.
It happened around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday. B.C. Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was hit while walking southbound on the side of the road near Cassini Cellars Winery.
He died at the scene, and Mounties said the driver fled the area.
Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area around that time to contact them.
