A man is recovering in hospital after being found stabbed in the stomach in Vancouver's West End early Thursday morning.
Police received a 911 call from Sushi Ville restaurant on Davie Street, between Granville and Howe streets at around 3:45 a.m. PT.
Const. Brian Montague said it was not clear what had happened inside the restaurant, but the stab wounds may have been self-inflicted after an argument.
"Our officers tried to quickly figure out what was going on, but it was difficult. None of the individuals we were speaking with spoke English," said Montague.
Police have not yet identified the man, but they believe he is around 40 years old and may have worked at the restaurant.
