Medical marijuana store raided in Vancouver over alleged links to organized crime
The raid brings the total of search warrants executed on illegal marijuana stores to 11
A medical marijuana store in East Vancouver was raided by police Wednesday night over suspicions the business has links to organized crime.
Police say they received a tip in July that the Limelife Society at 4866 Rupert St. was tied to an organized crime group.
During a subsequent investigation, police said they found the store was also selling pot to minors and those without a valid medical marijuana license.

"Our priority remains focused on violent drug traffickers and those who jeopardize the safety of youth and the marginalized in our community," VPD spokesperson Sgt. Randy Fincham said in a statement.
"The VPD will continue to respond to residents' concerns and take enforcement action if it is required."
One employee was arrested and released during the raid, and evidence was seized to further the investigation.
This brings the total number of search warrants executed on illegal medical marijuana stores in Vancouver to 11.
