Mission shooting a double homicide: police
Police are treating the deaths of two people in Mission, B.C., as homicides.
Guthrie Jolan McKay, 33, was dead when police entered a home on Greenwood Drive on Monday afternoon, RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr said, while Lisa Cheryl Dudley, 37, died of gunshot wounds to her neck on the way to hospital.
McKay had no obvious gunshot wounds, Carr said.
"We are treating this as a double homicide and we're currently trying to establish who would have committed this act against these two people," said Carr, a member of the Lower Mainland's integrated homicide investigation team.
Carr said the two people were not known to police. Investigators are looking into possible links to other incidents in the area.
Neighbours reported hearing six gunshots last Thursday, but police were called away to another incident before they could investigate.
An autopsy on McKay is expected to be conducted later this week.
