Moose tracking app released by provincial government
B.C. Moose Tracker lets people directly upload info on moose encounters to a database
If you see a moose in the wild, the B.C. government wants you to tell them about it.
A new app called B.C. Moose Tracker was released yesterday, allowing people to directly upload information about their encounters with moose to an online database.
It also includes a digital version of the 2016-2018 Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis, a searchable summary of provincial hunting regulations.

The province developed the app in consultation with the B.C. Wildlife Federation and with financial support from the Habitat Conservation Trust.
It is supported by both hunting and conservationist groups in the province, who say it will help wildlife management efforts.
"We're proud to have played a role in making this app a reality," said Jim Glacier, president of the B.C. Wildlife Federation, in a statement.
"It provides an innovative approach to moose inventory and gives the public across the province an important role in collecting and reporting better information to manage this species."
There are between 120,000 to 200,000 moose in British Columbia.
