RCMP are hoping the public can help fill in some details in their investigation, after several shots were fired Tuesday night near 88th Avenue and 134B Street in Surrey.

Several people called 911 reporting they heard multiple gunshots, but nobody actually saw the shooting, or any vehicles possibly involved, according to police.

Police said evidence of shooting was found in the area, but nothing along the road appears to have been hit. No injuries were reported.

The gunshots come after several weeks of violence in the area, amid an ongoing gang turf war

"We have to deal on hard evidence. There's nothing to say this is connected to the recent violence, but nothing to say it isn't, at this point," said Staff Sgt. Murray Hedderson with Surrey RCMP.

Anybody who may have seen the shots fired, or vehicles fleeing the area around 10:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday night, is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or a dedicated tip line set up to address previous shootings in the area at 604-915-9566. Anyone with information can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
