The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called late Friday to the Pemberton Music Festival to investigate what it described in a tweet as a suspicious death.

Festival organizers issued an emailed statement Friday night, confirming that an incident had occurred in one of the festival campgrounds and that RCMP were on site, investigating.

"HUKA Entertainment is working with Pemberton Fire Rescue to care for campers who need to be relocated during the police investigation," said festival publicist Teresa Trovato.

Police tape has also gone up around some washrooms.

Festival goer Reut Amit, tweeted that security officials, told her police would be at the washrooms all weekend and that they would remain cordoned off.
