For the second time in as many weeks, RCMP are investigating a suspicious death along Victoria Street in Prince George, B.C.

Just before midnight on Nov. 6, police were called to the 1500-block of Victoria Street, a busy downtown intersection near several shops and businesses.

RCMP said one person was shot and killed at about 11:45 p.m. PT in what appeared to be a targeted attack.

The shooting happened in an empty lot across the street from the Victoria Medical Building, and near the Connaught Youth Centre and the former North Star Inn, which was recently purchased for use as supportive housing by the province.

RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper says police are searching for one suspect, and want to speak to anyone who was in the area between 11:35 p.m. and 11:50 p.m.

It's at least the sixth suspicious death recorded in Prince George in 2024.

The investigation is being launched just over a week after police found a 61-year-old man dead in a home a few blocks away. Two people have been arrested in the investigation into that death, which is ongoing.
