Police seek witnesses to collision that killed RCMP Const. Sarah Beckett

Police are asking witnesses who may have witnessed the collision that killed RCMP Const. Sarah Beckett to come forward.
Beckett, 32, was travelling in a marked police car eastbound on Goldstream Road when her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Peatt Road in the Victoria suburb of Langford, B.C.
The RCMP and Saanich police department launched a criminal investigation into the fatal collision.
The driver of the other vehicle was arrested at the scene and released last Wednesday. No charges have been laid, but police said the investigation is ongoing.
"As part of the ongoing investigation, police are requesting that any witnesses that have not yet spoken to police, please contact us immediately," the RCMP said in a news release.
Police want to speak to witnesses that may have been driving on Peatt Road or in the area of Goldstream Avenue in the early morning hours of April 5 between 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. PT and may have observed the vehicles involved.
Beckett, an 11-year member of the force who spent her entire career on Vancouver Island, is survived by her husband and two young children.
Thousands attended her funeral on Tuesday.
