Scottish referendum could lead to B.C. flag flap
If Brits change the Union Jack, would B.C. have to change its flag?
If Scots vote 'Yes' for independence and the United Kingdom is no longer united, what does that mean for British Columbia's flag which proudly incorporates the Union Jack above a sun sinking into the Pacific Ocean?
The British flag includes three crosses: the red St. George's Cross on a white background representing England, the white St. Andrew's Cross on a blue background for Scotland and the red diagonal Cross of St. Patrick over a white background for Northern Ireland.
If Scotland becomes independent, there's been debate over whether the St. Andrew's Cross would be dropped from the Union Jack.
If B.C. followed Britain's lead, here's what B.C.'s flag would look like without Scotland's Cross of St. Andrew.
So what if British Columbians decided stick with Scotland and remove England's Cross of St. George? Here's a look.
