Serval cat missing in Aldergrove
An Aldergrove, B.C., family is on the hunt for their missing African serval cat.
A search is underway in Aldergrove, B.C., for an exotic cat that wandered away from home.
Tigger, an African serval cat, went missing from his owners' farm late Thursday afternoon.
"It's like missing a child," said owner Kelly Allen. "I'm devastated that he's gone."
The 35-pound cat has been declawed, hand-fed and housebroken.
"He's not car-wise. He's probably hiding somewhere totally absolutely terrified," Allen said.
The family has launched a Facebook page dedicated to finding the missing cat and hired an expert pet searcher.
While Allen is worried for Tigger's safety, she says he's not a danger to anyone.
"There is no worry of anyone, 'Oh he's going to go after my dog or my cat,' because in the wild their natural prey is fish, frogs, birds."
