Small earthquake lightly rattles Sechelt and Squamish

A small 3.1 magnitude earthquake was felt in Sechelt and Squamish. (Google Earth)

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake, just after 11:30 a.m. PT near Sechelt B.C. lightly rattled the Sunshine Coast and Squamish where it was briefly felt by some residents according to reports.

The quake was centred 28 kilometres northeast of Sechelt and occurred at a depth of five kilometres according to Natural Resources Canada

The tremor was recorded at Geological Survey of Canada locations in Nanaimo and Victoria. No damage has been reported and none is expected.
