A multi-vehicle crash in Surrey closed roads for hours on Friday night.

It happened just before 10 p.m. at the intersection of 140 Street and 72 Avenue.

Surrey RCMP said a white Ford Explorer travelling at high speed crashed into at least two vehicles in the intersection.

The occupants of three of the four vehicles involved were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Officials said the RCMP Air 1 helicopter had been following the Ford Explorer prior to the collision, and investigators have aerial footage of the crash to review.

Police had a large section of road closed for several hours overnight while collision experts investigated.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
