Several people were reportedly rescued after a suspicious fire broke out in a three-storey house on the 1400 block of Chartwell Drive in West Vancouver on Thursday morning.

Police have blocked off the area while fire crews continue to fight the blaze.

Helicopter news cameras showed flames still burning through several sections of the house's roof just after 7 a.m. PT, but authorities said nobody was injured in the blaze.

Police said the fire appeared to be suspicious, but did not explain why. They did say a large family lived in the home.

Two young men who appeared to have fled the home in little more than their underwear refused to be interviewed by reporters on the scene.
