TransLink CEO job posting lists massive salary, benefits
Next CEO will make almost $320K plus up to 30 per cent of base salary in bonus
The next CEO of TransLink will earn an annual salary of almost $320,000, plus a generous benefits and bonus package.
A listing for the position says the successful candidate can expect to earn an annual salary of $319,244 plus a yearly bonus of up to 30 per cent of base salary.
He or she will also be offered six weeks of vacation, a full benefits package (including a $14,400 annual transportation allowance and a parking allowance of $1,200), a $2,500 annual "wellness allowance", plus pension, extended health benefits, and money to relocate, if moving from out of town.
TransLink has long been criticised for its generous executive pay packages. The current opening for a new CEO follows the disastrous outcome of this year's transit plebiscite, in which over 60 per cent of respondents voted No to a new tax that would help fund major infrastructure projects.
According to the job posting, interested applicants should have five to 10 years of experience in a related role, a degree in business or engineering, and excellent communications and media relations skills.
