Fatal Surrey shooting believed to be targeted

One man is dead and another is wounded after what investigators believe to be a targeted shooting late Saturday night in Surrey.

One man is dead and another is wounded after what investigators believe to be a targeted shooting late Saturday night in Surrey.

RCMP responded to the 14300 block of 90A Avenue after receiving a number of reports of gunfire in the area at 10:19 p.m.

Officers found two men in their late 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital. One man later died while the other sustained what police call "survivable" injuries. 

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is working with Mounties to canvas the area of the shooting. 

"While we believe this to be a targeted shooting, police are working on confirming the motive for this attack and finding who is responsible," IHIT spokeswoman Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound wrote in a release.

Police are not releasing the victim's identity until family has been notified.
