Vacant house burns in Surrey
A house in Surrey that was vacant for about six months sustained extensive damage from fire Saturday night.
Fire officials hope building will be bulldozed to eliminate further safety hazards
A vacant house on 102 Avenue in Surrey, B.C., caught fire on Saturday night.
Fire crews got the call around 10 p.m., PT. They found the front corner room was burning, with significant damage to the front, side, and ceiling.
Surrey Fire officials say somebody must have gained access to the boarded-up house, and somehow sparked the fire. It's been empty for about six months.
Fire officials hope the building will now be bulldozed to eliminate any further safety hazards.
