Grab your Glühwein mug! Vancouver's popular Christmas Market is moving to Jack Poole Plaza near the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre this December.

The event — modeled after traditional German Christmas markets often held in town squares —  has outgrown its original location on the plaza outside the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, according to organizers.

"We found ourselves bursting at the seams last year," said founder Malte Kluetz.

The new site will accommodate about 70 booths featuring traditional European Christmas handicrafts, treats and hot drinks.

Along with about 12 new food and beverage huts, the new location will feature a seven metre musical Christmas pyramid and an Alpine Haus tent with views of the North Shore for 250 people to sit down and enjoy their glühwein, bratwurst, gulasch and spätzle.

The 7th annual market opens Nov. 26 and admission starts at $4.
